Breastfeeding is natural, but that doesn’t mean it comes naturally to everyone. As a lactation counselor, I can work with you to find answers to the problems you’re having with feeding your baby. I currently offer virtual visits so my clients can get the help they need without leaving their home. For those in Manhattan, Kansas I can also visit you in person during your hospital stay after your baby is born. This is especially helpful if you have your baby on the weekend and the hospital’s lactation consultant is not available. A consultation includes an assessment of baby, an assessment of the breastfeeding parent, and assistance with latch and positioning. We will collaborate to find solutions so you can reach your breastfeeding goals.
I am still working with clients to fulfill my required hours for certification.
I am offering special prices for those that take my Breastfeeding Prep class, as well as those that hire me as their birth doula!
Lactation Counseling
Birth can feel scary, but it’s easier when you have a good support system. As a birth doula, I’ll help prepare you for what birth looks like, and then I’ll be there to support you through it. A birth doula provides comfort both emotionally and physically during labor. The comfort a doula can provide is beneficial for any part of labor, but can be especially helpful if you’re planning an unmedicated birth. I currently only offer birth doula services virtually. This is a good option for those that want the extra support, but don’t want the extra person in the room.
I have worked as a birth doula already, but I need more clients in order to become fully certified. For that reason, I am offering a special discount until I fulfill that requirement. Please contact me or schedule a discovery call to discuss the discount.
Birth Doula Services
A birth plan lets your whole birth team understand what you want and don’t want during your labor. It can be hard to know what decisions you have to make, and can feel overwhelming when hospital staff does things that you didn’t already know about. In a birth plan counseling session, we’ll go over all the options you have. I’ll provide information on as many options as I can, so you can make informed decisions before you go into labor. We’ll discuss the different ways that birth can look, so you can feel prepared even if things go differently than how you originally wanted.
Birth plan counseling is included for all doula clients.

One-on-One Classes
Coping Through Labor $75
This class teaches comfort measures to use during labor. This information is helpful to have whether you choose to get an epidural or not. There will likely be a point in labor where you will need techniques to help manage any discomfort before you can access medical pain management, such as at home before going to the hospital. This one-on-one class is especially beneficial for those that aren’t interested in hiring a doula, but would like to have measures to help them through labor.
Some of the things we’ll cover include:
using a birth ball
breathing techniques
counter pressure
positions in labor
massage
aromatherapy
affirmations in labor
changes you can make to your
birthing space (lighting, music, etc.)
This class is included for full package doula clients.
Postpartum Prep $25
In this class, we will discuss multiple aspects of postpartum life. You hear about how happy you’ll feel, how tired you’ll be, the crying, tearing, and bleeding. Some people even mention something about the first poop postpartum being scarier than birth itself. We’ll discuss the parts of postpartum that people don’t often talk about. People aren’t preparing you for how to take care of yourself with the tearing and bleeding. They aren’t sharing ways to make that first poop less scary. They definitely aren’t giving you advice on how to take care of yourself if you have a c-section. Many first time moms feel like they weren’t told about some of the major aspects of postpartum, which leaves them feeling overwhelmed. In this class, we’ll discuss all of those things and more. We’ll talk about any specific fears you have about postpartum and how to be ready to take them on if they happen. This class is especially helpful for first time moms wanting to know what to expect after the baby is born.
There is a special discount on Postpartum Prep available for my doula clients.
